BEM ultrasonic homogeniser (sonicator)

BEM ultrasonic homogeniser with a touchscreen

An ultrasonic homogeniser (sonicator) that uses cavitation to disrupt cells, emulsify, extract and degas — the BEM family spans 150 to 3000 W of power and volumes from 0.1 to 5000 ml, controlled from a password-protected touchscreen.

BEM ultrasonic homogenisers work through cavitation: ultrasonic waves (around 20 kHz) create microscopic bubbles in the liquid whose rapid collapse releases energy that breaks down cellular and molecular structures. It is a technique entirely different from mechanical homogenisation — and irreplaceable for many biochemical tasks.

One instrument, many processes

The BEM sonicator is not only for cell disruption. It also handles emulsifying and dispersing, extracting substances from plant and animal material, separation, degassing liquids, cleaning and accelerating chemical reactions. As a result, a single instrument closes many processes in research, teaching and production laboratories.

A wide power range and easy control

The BEM family spans models from 150 to 3000 W, so you can match the unit to the sample volume — from 0.1 ml up to 5000 ml. Operation is controlled from a password-protected touchscreen, and a safety system (overload protection, alarm, self-diagnosis and automatic error correction) protects both the sample and the sonicator. A set of interchangeable probe tips is matched to the vessel diameter and volume.
