BILON ultrasonic homogenisers

BILON ultrasonic homogenisers (sonicators) for cell disruption and sample homogenisation. Seven models from 150 to 1800 W handle volumes from 0.2 to 2000 ml, with amplitude control and temperature control.

BILON ultrasonic homogenisers, also called sonicators, break up cell structures and disintegrate samples using ultrasonic energy. A probe vibrating at about 22 kHz creates cavitation in the liquid that ruptures cell walls and quickly brings the suspension to a uniform emulsion. The method suits biochemistry, chemistry, medicine, physics and biology.
Choosing power and volume
The series spans seven models from 150 to 1800 W, which sets the sample volume handled — from 0.2 ml on the smallest BILON-150Y up to 2000 ml on the BILON-1800Y. The working amplitude is adjustable over 1–99%, so the same procedure can be repeated with good sample-to-sample reproducibility.
Temperature control and probes
Ultrasonic homogenisation generates heat, so the instruments provide sample temperature control from ambient up to 99°C — important for heat-sensitive material such as proteins. Each model takes a probe (tip) of the appropriate diameter for the sample volume and type, and optional tips are available.
