F-DGSi CRYOGEN liquid nitrogen generators produce liquid nitrogen (LN₂) on site and on demand — no tanker deliveries and no dewar storage. Gaseous nitrogen is liquefied to −196°C by the Gifford-McMahon technique, at over 99% purity (oxygen below 1%). The series delivers from 8 to 960 L/day, with a built-in dewar and touchscreen control.

Liquid nitrogen (LN₂) for freezing samples, cold traps or cooling detectors usually arrives in tankers and dewars — with constant boil-off, logistics costs and the risk of supply gaps. A CRYOGEN generator makes it right at the bench, from compressed air, exactly when and in the quantity you need.
How liquid nitrogen is made
The generator first separates gaseous nitrogen, then liquefies it in a cryo-refrigerator running the Gifford-McMahon cycle — compressing and expanding helium. The cold head cools the nitrogen to −196°C, and the liquefied gas collects in a built-in, certified dewar. Purity reaches over 99%, with oxygen below 1%.

Operation and safety
An intelligent touchscreen runs the process: start and stop, real-time monitoring, parameter setting and a maintenance schedule. Outside working hours the unit switches to economy mode, cutting energy use. Liquid nitrogen is drawn off safely through an insulated cryogenic hose, while a robust cabinet, safety valves and a certified dewar ensure reliable, long-term operation.
Applications
Cryopreservation and cell banks, in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), cryosurgery and dermatology, cold traps and cooling in GC-2D, ICP and spectrometry, plus molecular gastronomy and metal treatment. On-site production is cost-effective, pays back quickly and eliminates tanker deliveries.
