GC-MS 6800

GC-MS 6800 gas chromatograph mass spectrometer

Benchtop GC-MS with a quadrupole mass analyser and an in-house gas chromatograph — for qualitative and quantitative analysis of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds in environmental, food and industrial samples.

The GC-MS 6800 is a benchtop system in which the gas chromatograph separates a mixture of organic compounds while the coupled mass spectrometer identifies each eluting component and measures how much of it is present. A single run therefore answers both “what is in the sample” and “how much of it”.

Where it fits

The instrument serves environmental, food-safety, industrial and research laboratories. Typical tasks include organic pollutants in air, water and soil, pesticide residues and additives in food, screening of substances covered by the RoHS directive, and work in petrochemistry, pharmaceuticals, the fragrance industry and forensics.

What sets it apart

The chromatograph uses electronic flow control (EFC) and pressure control (EPC) for repeatable separation conditions. A high-output ion source with emission up to 350 µA and a quadrupole analyser with a pre-quadrupole deliver good sensitivity while keeping the analyser cleaner. Inlets and detectors are configured to the task at hand.
