Sand bath up to 300°C

MT-2 laboratory sand bath up to 300°C

The MT-2 sand bath for even heating of vessels up to 300°C — a 2000 W heating power and a 300×400×100 mm tank. An economical solution for work needing a dry, high-temperature heat carrier.

The MT-2 sand bath is an economical way to heat laboratory vessels evenly up to 300°C. As in the larger models, heat is spread through a layer of sand that acts as a dry, safe carrier and surrounds irregularly shaped vessels well.

Enough for routine tasks

The range up to 300°C covers most work needing high-temperature heating for which a water or oil bath is not enough. The 2000 W heating power reaches working temperature efficiently, and the 300×400×100 mm tank holds vessels of moderate size. Sand works well for round-bottom flasks, crucibles and mineralisation vessels, where even heat all around matters more than reaction speed. Unlike liquid baths there is no risk of spilling or evaporating the medium, and the station stays clean.

When to choose the MT-2

If your procedures do not need temperatures above 300°C, the MT-2 is a sensible, economical choice. For work up to 400°C the SB400E sand bath is intended. Ask for a quote — we will help match a model to your vessels.
