Abbe 2W refractometer

Abbe 2W refractometer with two eyepieces

The Abbe 2W laboratory refractometer, with two eyepieces and 22x sample magnification, measures the refractive index and sugar concentration on the Brix scale. For transparent and semi-transparent liquids and for solids — precise reading of the light–shadow boundary.

The Abbe 2W refractometer is a laboratory optical instrument with two eyepieces, providing 22x magnification of the sample under test. It measures the refractive index and sugar concentration on the Brix scale of transparent and semi-transparent liquids, as well as of solids.

Comfortable viewing, an accurate reading

Two eyepieces make it easier to view the measuring field and the scale at once, and 22x magnification lets you set the light–shadow boundary precisely — on which the accuracy of the refractive-index reading depends. The Abbe design is at the same time simple and reliable, and it works well in routine laboratory use.

Where it fits

The 2W is used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries, in the sugar industry, quality-control laboratories, schools and research institutes. If a simpler single-eyepiece instrument is enough, choose the Abbe WYA refractometer; when you need automatic, digital measurement with data logging, reach for the automatic A630/A670 refractometers.
