Abbe WYA refractometer

The classic Abbe WYA refractometer, with a single eyepiece and a digital thermometer, measures the refractive index and sugar concentration on the Brix scale. It accepts a thermostat and works across 0–70°C. For transparent and semi-transparent liquids and for solids.
- Measures refractive index (nD) and sugar on the Brix scale
- Single eyepiece with a scale for direct reading
- Built-in digital thermometer
- Thermostat inlet — operation across 0–70°C
- For transparent, semi-transparent liquids and solids
The Abbe WYA refractometer is a classic, proven optical instrument with a single eyepiece and a digital thermometer. It measures the refractive index and sugar concentration on the Brix scale in transparent and semi-transparent liquids, as well as in solids.
A simple measurement, stable conditions
The reading is taken through a single eyepiece with a scale, which makes the WYA fast and intuitive to operate. The built-in digital thermometer lets you monitor the sample temperature, and the thermostat inlet allows measurement at a stabilised temperature across 0–70°C — important where the refractive index depends strongly on temperature.
Where it fits
The WYA is used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries, in the sugar industry, quality-control laboratories, schools and research institutes. When you need greater sample magnification, reach for the twin-eyepiece Abbe 2W refractometer; for a fully digital, automatic readout, the automatic A630/A670 refractometers are intended.
