Series P automatic polarimeters

Series P automatic polarimeters — models P810 and P850

The series P automatic polarimeters (P810, P850 and the Pro versions) use photoelectric optical-rotation measurement — 0.001° resolution, ±0.01° accuracy and a 589.3 nm sodium lamp rated for up to 100,000 h. The Pro models meet FDA CFR21 Part 11 for pharmacy.

The series P automatic polarimeters are built on photoelectric automatic-measurement technology, which combines reliable results with simple operation. Measuring optical rotation quickly determines a sample’s density, concentration and purity — without any subjective analogue reading.

Precision and automation

The whole family — P810, P850 and the Pro versions — measures at 0.001° resolution, ±0.01° accuracy over the -45° to +45° range and 0.002° repeatability. The light source is a 589.3 nm sodium lamp rated for up to 100,000 hours. The result appears automatically on a touchscreen — 5.6" on the P810 and 8" on the P850 — removing the drawbacks of manual reading and shortening analysis time.

Versions for laboratories and pharmacy

The P850 has a built-in Peltier temperature-control system, and extensive connectivity via USB, RS232 and WiFi plus 8 GB of memory. The P810 Pro and P850 Pro run software that meets FDA CFR21 Part 11, required in the pharmaceutical industry. Series P is used in pharmacy, chemistry, food processing and in research institutes and universities. For simpler measurements, the PLRS-200 semi-automatic polarimeter or the manual PLRM-4 will do.
