Ball mills

Ball mills grind and mix samples using grinding balls set in motion in a rotating vessel — the method for reaching very fine, uniform granulation. The range includes roller mills (single- and multi-position), large and small ball mills, and planetary ball mills reaching around 0.1 µm. Vessels and balls are available in various materials — stainless steel, zirconium oxide, aluminium oxide or agate.

Grinding media — balls and beads for ball and stirred mills in eight materials: zirconia (ZrO₂), agate, corundum (Al₂O₃), 304/316 stainless steel, tungsten carbide, polyurethane, nylon and silicon nitride. Diameters from sub-1 mm beads to 40 mm balls, matched to the sample, jar and target fineness.

Small ball mill RJM30D
The small RJM30D laboratory roller ball mill for small samples — three rollers, speed 0–480 rpm and vessels around 65–85 mm in diameter. A compact solution where a large ball mill is unnecessary.

Stirred (bead) mill
A laboratory stirred (bead) mill for wet grinding and dispersion down to nano fineness. An agitator drives fine grinding beads through a slurry, breaking down pigments, paints, inks, ceramics and advanced materials — with temperature control for viscous media.

Vibration ball mill
A laboratory vibration ball mill for fast, ultra-fine grinding of hard, brittle and fibrous samples. High-frequency vibration of the chamber breaks the material down in minutes — dry or wet, in small batches for sample preparation.

GQM multi-position ball mills
